Standard Heat Pump Horizontal
Our horizontally mounted heat pump cylinders enable renewable-supply hot water in attic spaces, for houses that otherwise wouldn’t be able to site a hot water cylinder and fit an air-source or ground-source heat pump.
The cylinders come provided with a 25-year cylinder warranty from the manufacturer and are available in 170-300L capacities.
Horizontal heat pump cylinders are manufactured with duplex stainless steel and come equipped with a 3m2 or 2m2 316L-grade heating coil (capacity dependent). These coils are made from wide-diameter corrugated tubing to encourage turbulent flow in the heat exchange process for maximum performance, and quicker recovery times.
All heating coils supplied with these cylinders come with 1” BSP connections, for suitability with 28mm copper pipe, reducing pressure drop at high flowrates, enabling a greater COP from your chosen air source or ground source heat pumps. Additionally, all cylinders come provided with uniquely positioned 12mm probe pocket for temperature monitoring either through the heat pump, or via a cloud-based controller, allowing for optimal production of hot water from your horizontal unit.
Vertically mounted immersion heaters are incorporated into the horizontal heat pump units, to enable heating of the full capacity of the cylinder. This can be connected to a solar PV diverter to power your cylinder entirely via renewable technologies but should primarily be used once per week for a 60-65°C pasteurisation cycle for at least 1 hour to avoid any risk of legionella bacteria growth.
These units come provided with a G3 unvented compliance kit (3 bar/6 bar inlet control set, 7 bar 90°C temperature and pressure relief valve and associated insulation cover, 15mm x 22mm tundish), a suitably sized expansion vessel, 28mm 2-port zone valve, and a high-lit cut-out thermostat.
All installations should be made in accordance with building regulations, as well as the terms detailed in our installation manual, and should be carried out by a qualified professional.
